Rip it, rip it (Daily Update: 6/9/19)
Had a bit of a fail day today. That chart I wrote up yesterday? Turns out I forgot to save it before I closed the tab. It didn’t take too long to recreate because I remembered most of it, but still, it was annoying.
Even worse, I took my shirt off the needles because I thought I needed to rip it back a bit, but I took the opportunity to try it on and it turned out I had to rip out the whole thing. From the waist down it was fine, but the top was way way too big - it was basically falling down. Oh dear. I tried to salvage it a bit and just gave up and frogged the whole lot. I did a lot of research on Ravelry to see how other sleeveless tops do it, and I think I need to build in a ridiculous amount of negative ease.
I think I’m going to pause on the shirt for a little while. When a design is giving you this much grief it’s probably worth putting it down for a while and looking at it with fresh eyes later. I got my yarn for the test knit I signed up to the other day, so I’m just going to work on that for a while.
